James Pacheco
VP Thermal Systems
James Pacheco leads the thermal systems team at eSolar overseeing receiver design, thermal storage, thermal and mechanical analysis, testing, and performance modeling. With over 20 years experience at Sandia National Laboratories, Mr. Pacheco most recently served as Manager of the Primary Physical Standards Department. Prior to this role, Mr. Pacheco spent 14 years developing Concentrating Solar Power technologies, including power towers and thermal storage systems. A highlight of his tenure was the role of project lead for Sandia's effort and Chairman of the Technical Advisory Committee for the Solar Two project, responsible for the testing and evaluation of the 10 MW solar thermal power plant. He has previously served as Chair of the Executive Committee in ASME's Solar Energy Division and has authored 55 CSP related publications. Mr. Pacheco earned his MSME from UC Berkeley and a BSME from New Mexico State University.
